We offer Early Childhood Education for children aged 2yrs to 6yrs

OUR SCHOOL

PLAY GROUP

A family orientated class where the child learns to play on the ‘big equipment’, experiment with water, paint, crayons and to enjoy ‘messy play’. It also eases the transition from home to school. They also learn to be part of a group, interact positively and sympathetically with others, share toys and games, listen to stories and instructions. They discover more about their world and themselves through creative play

BABY CLASS –DAISIES

An active and varied program allows plenty of opportunities to learn through free play and creative activities as well as carefully planned and structured topics. Children enjoy lots of stories and they start to encounter sounds of the alphabet and recognition of numbers. As the children develop skills in speaking and listening, they gain confidence in their use of language and build their self esteem.

NURSERY –LILLIES

Here they take the initial steps to formal learning. They learn how to read and communicate their thoughts through writing. A wide range of practical activities enables them to understand numbers and the written words. learn through a variety of fun ways such as through animal songs and stories, a variety of outdoor activities, bible stories and many more. Their physical activities are carefully planned. Participation in the group activity teaches co-operation and teamwork. The children also learn to play fair and to follow games rules.

PRE-UNITS

Much emphasis is placed on encouraging and developing the child’s autonomy and independence of mind. Most of the day is spent with the class teacher with the aim of building confidence and accuracy in the written and spoken word and laying the foundation of sound mathematical understanding. Teaching is now more formal. At this stage the children are leading little citizens within the school and are given the challenges of decision making relevant to their age. Upon completion of this stage the children are emotionally and psychologically prepared for transition to primary education.
